Our Principles
Located in Johnson City, Tenn., we've been serving the communities of Northeastern Tennessee and surrounding states since 1986. With a mission to provide the highest level of care to our patients and community through the continued advancement of pharmacy practice, we have developed a reputation not only for our expertise but also for our principles, which ensure customers know what to expect when they walk in the door.

Our Team
Mooney’s Pharmacy is comprised of a team of pharmacists and professionals who care about every patient. Whether you speak to a pharmacist, technician or assistant, we pride ourselves on providing you with the most accurate and helpful information regarding your prescription medications and wellness as a whole.
Jacob Cox
Co-Owner, PharmD.
Jacob Cox was born and raised in Lexington, Ky., with his two older brothers. He studied biochemistry while playing soccer and tennis while an undergrad at Asbury University. Following graduation from Asbury, he attended pharmacy school at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenn., where he met and sat next to Chad Huntsman for two years. After pharmacy school, he went back to Kentucky to complete his pharmacy residency in a hospital, moving to Morristown soon after to work with Chad and Joe at College Park Pharmacy. Outside of work, Jacob loves church, playing golf and tennis, traveling, adventuring and UK basketball.

Tom Mooney
D.Ph.
Tom Mooney, Sr., was born and raised in West Virginia. He attended Wake Forest University, where he earned a bachelor's of science degree in biology and chemistry, and the University of North Carolina Pharmacy School at Chapel Hill, where he earned his doctor of pharmacy degree. Tom has a long history of serving the citizens of Johnson City, first as a pharmacist at Howard Bros. Pharmacy, and then as owner and pharmacist at Mooney's Pharmacy. "Since 1985, Mooney's has focused on good prices and excellent customer service, priding ourselves on customer appreciation and understanding. My customers have become my very good friends, and some of my employees have been with me for over 30 years." Tom and his wife, Linda, have three children (Tom, Jr., Matt and Jane). Outside of work, Tom enjoys skeet and trap shooting, and serves on the board of the Unaka Gun and Rod Club.
Chris Lopez
Lead Pharmacist
An east Tennessee native and avid Vols fan, Chris grew up in Morristown, Tn, where he attended Morristown-Hamblen High School East class of 2007. Upon graduation he moved to Johnson City to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a local pharmacist. After graduating from ETSU College of Pharmacy in 2014 Summa Cum Laude, he began his career and met his wife Sidney Lopez (formerly Fail). They have been married since 2016 and have three beautiful children: Peyton, Jacklen, and Christopher Neyland. Chris and his family enjoy walking their german shepherd and yorkie, watching anything Tennessee Vols sports, and cooking family dinners in the evening. Chris has a passion for serving the Lord and his patients. He would love to meet everyone as the new pharmacist at Mooney’s!
